Welding works started for UXO crawler

After six months of engineering and supplier negotiations, welding works for a dedicated UXO crawler have finally started at the SeaTerra workshop in Seevetal/Germany. Construction and test of the 5t medium size crawler, with 2 manipulator arms for munition excavation and grabbing is the core part of WorkPackage 7.

SeaTerra is a specialized UXO survey and clearance company. As a lead partner in MMinE-SwEEPER Work Package 7, SeaTerra is working towards methods and technology to make the process of removing munition (grabbing and transportation to another location) faster and safer. As one of the major contractors in the German IMMEDIATE ACTION PROGRAM for Munition, SeaTerra has already developed and tested specialized claws and grabbing technology, that can now be used in MMinE-SwEEPER.

Throughout the project, the claws and grabbing technology will be adopted for automatic arms and integrated onto a medium sized, specialized UXO crawler system.

After more than six months of engineering and supplier negotiations, SeaTerra is proud to announce that welding works have finally started at the SeaTerra workshop in Seevetal/Germany.

Over the next three months, the crawler and arms will now be built and assembled.
